Ikea Monkey

Everyone should that this happened... http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/12/10/ikea-monkey-is-named-darwin-only-seven-months-old-and-is-likely-headed-for-an-animal-sanctuary/

A Rhesus monkey with a stylish coat was caught wondering around an Ikea in Toronto.  For hours the monkey was casually walking around the store and voluntarily posing for pictures.  The little guy's name is Darwin.  He's now being transported to an animal sanctuary.  Monkeys are by far one of the coolest animal out there.  Just look at this guy ...
This is what "swag" looks like, ladies and gentlemen.

For further viewing pleasure, here's a video I made a ways back while I was very bored. Enjoy.

Christmas Movies

The Holiday season is upon on and I for one am quite excited.  This is my favorite time of the year.  Unlike some, I love the snow and the cold that goes with it.  What makes the weather bearable of me is the festive nature of the season; decorations, Christmas carols, and most notably, Christmas movies.  It's by far my favorite part of the holiday.  Since I was little I've absolutely adored Christmas movies, old and new.  My family has a tradition of watching the same Christmas movies in a particular order Christmas Eve.  Some of my favorites are: National Lampoons: Christmas vacation, Garfield's Christmas, Charlie Brown's Christmas, and The Muppets Christmas.

Cougar Town

I started watching the show Cougar Town about a month ago.  I got into it because there's a running joke on the show Community that Cougar Town is the Abed's favorite show.  I finally gave in and watched a few episode.  The show's humor reminded me a lot of scrubs... Turns out the shows were both created by Bill Lawrence.

After I learned that the Scrubs and Cougar town have the same creator (and share a few of the same actors) I was hooked.  The show really has something for everyone.  I highly recommend everyone check it out... and so does Abed

Honey Boo Boo

I'm not on board with this whole Honey Boo Boo circus act.  It kind of terrifies me that this is what passes for entertainment these days. (more on that please find and watch the South Park episode of Honey Boo Boo.  Like always they're spot on.)

What's even more terrifying is to stop and think about who this little girl is going to grow up to become.  Look at all the child stars that came off as sweet and innocent when they were young and the terrible drug addicts most of them became as adults. (i.e. Lindsay Lohan, Danny Bonaduce, the Olsen twins) These people were well-behaved and generally charming as children.

This child they call Honey Boo Boo is loud, impolite, shows very poor social skills as well as self-control, and is generally awful.  I can't imagine what a terrible adult she will turn into down the line.  My only hope is that her show is cancelled and she's able to escape from the limelight before she's completely lost.  Although, judging from what I've seen of her family and lifestyle, her fate may already be sealed.

Sick of being Politically Correct

http://moms.today.com/_news/2012/10/24/14631085-are-charlie-brown-and-the-peanuts-gang-too-mean-for-todays-kids-good-grief?lite

This is an article I came across before Halloween.  It's all about how Charlie Brown is bad for children now. Are you kidding me!!! This is such a joke.  I'm sick of these "concerned" individuals who seem to think it's their duty to save-guard children from everything that could possible be deemed offensive or negative.  It's Charlie Brown! There is nothing more wholesome, I mean have you seen the Christmas special?
Here's a quote from the article I particularly enjoy: “The show is riddled with the kids calling each other stupid, dumb, and blockheads. There is continous teasing and bullying. Charlie Brown is supposed to be the hero, instead he is kicked and demeaned at every turn, even by the adults giving out candy.”
To whomever wrote this and those who agree with it.  You. Are. Absurd!  Anyone who thinks Charlie Brown is bad for children really needs to rethink a lot of things in their life.  Who knows, maybe someone just had the classic football pulled away from them trick too many times and just set their sights on taking down one of the most beloved children's characters of all time.

Happy the Election is almost over

I for one am so happy that the election has almost come to a close.  I'm sick of the pandering and political attack ads spouting half-truths.  The election is a lot like waiting for medical test results for a severe disease.  You sit around anxiously awaiting the results while constantly dwelling on the worst possible outcome (your candidate losing or getting bad medical news) then finally the time arrives and you receive the news and one of two things happen. 1) Your candidate wins or you get word that its benign. 2) Your candidate loses or you get word that it's malignant.  Option 2) is interesting because the next step for either context (medical or political) is moving to Canada.  You always hear people exclaiming "I'm moving to Canada now that HE'S been elected." And if you have a terrible disease lets be honest your best option is Canada for their health care.

Dr. Horrible

I've sort of rediscovered something I haven't seen since 2008.  It's called Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along blog.  It's a short movie/ musical about a wannabe evil villain who blogs about its triumphs and failures.   The movie was release in 3 parts or episodes.  I got into in back in 2008 because it's directed by Joss Whedon, the director of The Avengers and one of my favorite TV shows Firefly. The cast is amazing.  Felicia Day, Neil Patrick Harris, Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory - Howard), and best of all Nathan Fillion who played Mal in Firefly.

I rediscovered this gem because they recently released another "episode."  I highly recommend everyone to check it out, it's really entertaining.  I think those of you who maybe aren't fans of musicals would still enjoy it; the actors are amazing and you really can't go wrong with Joss Whedon.

Official website: http://drhorrible.com/
There you can find Dr. Horrible books, comic books, and merchandise.

Here's the entire first movie (parts 1, 2, and 3)
