Recently, my favorite band Dispatch released a new album "Circles Around the Sun," "C.A.T.S" for short. I love it. Dispatch has been my favorite band since I was old enough to start developing my own music tastes.
Their most widely known song:
Although Dispatch has been around since 1996 a lot of people still don't know them. This is primarily because the band decided to never sign with a label. (They have a label now)
Dispatch's basic bio:
1996- Formed at Middlebury College in Vermont.
They toured all over the country and released 4 albums
2002- Broke up at the height of their popularity
2004- briefly got back together
2005- The band decided to get back together one more time to play for their home town in Boston, MA
Dispatch's concert was a free show called "The Last Dispatch" at the venue Hatch Shell. The original attendance predictions were 10,000-30,000. Security staff and Boston PD were shocked when over 100,000 poured into the venue. Security was so overwhelmed they had to call all available backup. To this day it is the largest musical gather for an unsigned act.
2007- Came together for a benefit concert. All proceed went to help charitable organizations in Zimbabwe. Dispatch once again shocked everyone by selling out Madison Square Garden in under an hour.
2009- finally back together and have remained together.
Here's a song off their new album:
